The St. Pius X Choir and Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Northwest Louisiana will present a Dedication Concert on Sunday August 18, 2013, 4pm, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 4300 North Market, Shreveport, LA 71107. This will be a free concert. Donations will be accepted.

The concert will feature St. Pius’ newly acquired Steinway piano in a first public concert performance. Canadian pianist Jimmy Brière will be performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto no. 20, K. 466, accompanied by a professional orchestral ensemble of 25 players – the St. Pius Players – conducted by Marc-André Bougie.

The concert will begin with Beethoven’s majestic Mass in C, performed by the Shreveport Chorale, the Texarkana Regional Chorale, the St. Pius Players, and four vocal soloists: Soprano Candace Taylor, Mezzo-Soprano Audrey Grieme, Tenor Ryan McDonald, and Baritone Thomas Irwin. Marc-André Bougie will be conducting. In all, over 75 performers will be on stage delivering this timeless religious masterwork.
